  • Open to Union County residents ONLY
  • Free to attend but pre-registration is required at: ucnj.org/reserve/ beginning at 9:00 AM on Friday, May 21
  • Reservations will be available on a first come, first served basis.
  • No walk-ups, bikes or chairs are permitted
  • Attendees must bring their own snacks and drinks; There will not be any food or drink available for purchase; Alcohol is not permitted
  • Vehicles will be arranged at least 6 feet apart with adequate social distancing.
  • Attendees must stay in their vehicles (unless they need to use the port-o-johns)
  • Port-o-johns will be available; Masks are required when using the port-o-johns

Tour of 7 residential gardens in historic Hillside, Netherwood Heights and Sleepy Hollow neighborhoods in Plainfield, and the Shakespeare Garden in Cedar Brook Park.

Musical performances by Plainfield Symphony Orchestra musician and local artists at select gardens throughout the day. Tour begins at 701 Belvidere Ave, Plainfield, NJ.

COVID-19 guidelines will be in effect.

Trailside: Summer Programs

Summer programs for children and families at Union County’s Trailside Nature and Science Center, located in the Watchung Reservation at 452 New Providence Road in Mountainside. Registration begins Saturday, May 15 at 9:00 AM for Union County residents and Monday, May 17 at 9:00 a.m. for non-county residents.

Fee Per Session:
$165 - Union County Resident
$210 - Out Of County Resident

Evening Program Fee:
$7/Person - Union County Resident
$8/Person - Out Of County Resident

In order to follow COVID-19 guidelines, all programs will be limited in size. Masks are required and must be worn by all participants, and social distancing guidelines must be observed.
