Exposición

En Su Derecha Propia La "derecha" como posición de honor fue establecida a partir del tiempo en que la "mano derecha" era la "mano de arma." La mano derecha levantada sin un arma era una muestra de la paz. La mano derecha, a cualquier observador, es la izquierda del observador.

• Señal De Socorro La bandera nunca se debe exhibir al revés con la unión (estrellas) abajo, excepto como señal de socorro en casos de peligro extremo a la vida o a propiedades.
• Agrupaciones - La bandera de los Estados Unidos debe estar en centro y en punto más alto del grupo cuando varias banderas de estados, de lugares o de sociedades se agrupan o se arreglan para exhibición.
• Solapa Cuando la bandera se exhibe como insignia de solapa, debe ser puesta en la solapa izquierda, cerca del corazón.
• Desfile La bandera debe estar delante de los desfilantes. En el momento que la bandera pasa en un desfile o una procesión, todas personas deben demostrar respecto colocándose en atención a la bandera, con su mano derecha sobre sus corazones. Cuando otras banderas son incluidas, la Bandera De Estados Unidos debe estar en centro, adelante de otras o llevada a la derecha.
• Asta Cuando varias banderas se vuelan en un asta bandera, la bandera de EE.UU. siempre debe estar en la parte superior. Las banderas de naciones soberanas no se deben volar en el mismo poste con la bandera de los Estados Unidos, sino en postes separados.
• Plataforma Cuando la bandera se exhibe en el piso o en una plataforma, la bandera es dada el lugar del honor, siempre colocada detrás del orador y a mano derecha, a la izquierda de la audiencia.
• Retirándose La bandera, cuando esta en tales condiciónes que no más es un emblema apropiado para exhibición, se debe destruir de una manera dignificada, preferiblemente quemandola.
• Pared Cuando exhibiendo la bandera contra una pared (en caída vertical u horizontal), la unión (estrellas) de la bandera debe estar en parte superior, en su derecha propia, y a la izquierda del observador.

Displaying

On Its Own Right The "right" as the position of honor was established from the time when the "right hand" was the "weapon hand." The right hand raised without a weapon was a sign of peace. The right hand, to any observer, is the observer's left.

• Distress Signal The flag should never be displayed with the union (stars) down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
• Groupings The Flag of The United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of states, localities or societies are grouped or arranged for display.
• Lapel When the flag is displayed as a lapel pin, it should be worn on the left lapel, near the heart.
• Parade The flag should be in front of the marchers. At the moment the flag passes in a parade or procession, all persons should show respect by standing at attention facing the flag with their right hand over their hearts. When other flags are included, the United States Flag should be centered in front of the others or carried to their right.
• Pole When several flags are flown from the same flag pole, the U.S. Flag should always be at the top. Flags of sovereign nations should not be flown on the same pole as the United States Flag but from separate poles.
• Platform When displayed on the floor or on a platform, the flag is given the place of honor, always positioned behind the speaker and to the speaker's right, to the left of the audience.
• Retiring The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
• Wall When displaying the flag against a wall (a vertical or horizontal hang), the flag's union (stars) should be at the top, to the flag's own right, and the observer's left.

Media Asta

La bandera será volada en media asta por treinta días siguiendo la muerte del presidente o de un presidente anterior; diez días siguiendo la muerte de un Presidente De La Corte Suprema de los Estados Unidos, en servicio activo o jubilado, o el Presidente de la Cámara de los Representantes; a partir del día de la muerte hasta el entierro de un Magistrado Adjunto del Tribunal Supremo, de una Secretario de un departamento ejecutivo o militar, de un Vice Presidente anterior o del Gobernador De Un Estado, de un territorio, o de una posesión; y en el día de muerte hasta el día siguiente para un Miembro Del Congreso.

Half Staff

The flag shall be flown at half-staff for thirty days following the death of the President or a former President; ten days following the day of death of the Vice President, the Chief Justice or a retired Chief Justice of the United States, or the Speaker of the House of Representatives; from the day of death until interment of an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, a Secretary of an executive or military department, a former Vice President or the Governor of a State, territory, or possession; and on the day of death and the following day for a Member of Congress.
